I am the mother of four boys and one girl. My upbringing was in a non-practicing Catholic household, and at the age of 16, I found myself engaged and pregnant, prompting my husband and me to marry. My mother-in-law, a Pentecostal preacher, consistently prayed for us. Our journey took a transformative turn about ten years into our marriage when both my husband and I committed our lives to Christ. The 29 years of our marriage have been marked by challenges, growth, and a deepening faith, a testimony I plan to share in a future blog post focusing on marriage.

Upon my salvation, I was a mother of three boys, with one approaching adolescence. Drawing from my own teenage experiences and the desire to guide my children in the right path, I had a profound moment with the Lord where I sought wisdom. I did not want to witness my children following a path outside God's will, as I had observed with some family and friends. The Lord directed me clearly on two fundamental principles. Firstly, I was to teach my children to love God with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength. Secondly, I was to recognize that my children were entrusted to me, and I would be held accountable for how I raised them.

God emphasized that while my children had free will, it was my responsibility to guide them in the right direction. However, if they made choices contrary to His will, I was to step aside during the consequences and let God work in their lives.

I had to place my complete trust in the Lord and depend on Him to guide me in my journey as a mother. I recognized that I had allowed many things in my past to shape my understanding of motherhood, and it was time to surrender those preconceptions to God's guidance.

My sons, now ages 28 (married), 25, 24, and 18, each have their unique testimonies, and one resounding truth I can attest to is that God truly knows best! Entrusting Him with control allowed Him to work in the lives of my children. Personally, my spiritual growth was nurtured during this time under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, with the promises in God's Word held close to my heart.

My 11-year-old daughter is experiencing a different upbringing, being immersed in the fullness of the Holy Spirit from a very young age. She understands the spiritual battles we face against unseen forces, a revelation my boys encountered at a much later stage. Discovering the book "Never Alone - Parenting in the Power of the Holy Spirit" brought excitement as I yearned to learn and grow further.

Yet, God's faithfulness shines through. Jesus assured us of the necessity for His departure, promising to send a Helper who would teach and remind us of His truth found in His Word. I am living proof that seeking Him leads to finding Him, and He guides us into His truth. Receiving confirmation after confirmation with every chapter I read further solidified the profound impact of the insights and teachings within the book. Each section seemed tailored to affirm and strengthen my understanding, providing reassurance that parenting in the power of the Holy Spirit is indeed a transformative and deeply fulfilling journey. This book is a must-read for those desiring to parent with the power and authority of the Holy Spirit.
